CJ attended many churches over the course of his life and loved the Lord with all his heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Franklin and Maude Parker, his adoptive parents, Maureen and Ellis Kitchens, his children Jerry and Ronald, and seven of his siblings.

After retiring from the Marines, CJ would join the United States Postal Service and proudly work with them for 20 years. CJ had many hobbies, including playing cards with friends and family, going on long nature walks, traveling, eating good food, watching sports, and spending time with friends and family. CJ was also an avid animal lover; he had many dogs and cats over the years and never met an animal he didn’t like. CJ attended many churches over the course of his life and loved the Lord with all his heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Franklin and Maude Parker, his adoptive parents, Maureen and Ellis Kitchens, his children Jerry and Ronald, and seven of his siblings.
CJ is survived by his wife of sixty years Jay Nell, three sons, Alex (Shirl), Richard, and John David; four grandchildren Kari (Brian), Daniel (Tori), Brittany (Chris) and Chandler; two great-grandchildren Luke and Ava; his sister Hazel Collins of Macon, Georgia; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. He was loved by all who knew him.

After retiring from the Marines, CJ would join the United States Postal Service and proudly work with them for 20 years. CJ had many hobbies, including playing cards with friends and family, going on long nature walks, traveling, eating good food, watching sports, and spending time with friends and family. CJ was also an avid animal lover; he had many dogs and cats over the years and never met an animal he didn’t like. CJ attended many churches over the course of his life and loved the Lord with all his heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Franklin and Maude Parker, his adoptive parents, Maureen and Ellis Kitchens, his children Jerry and Ronald, and seven of his siblings.
CJ is survived by his wife of sixty years Jay Nell, three sons, Alex (Shirl), Richard, and John David; four grandchildren Kari (Brian), Daniel (Tori), Brittany (Chris) and Chandler; two great-grandchildren Luke and Ava; his sister Hazel Collins of Macon, Georgia; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Born March 3, 1931 in Macon, Georgia, he was the youngest of nine children and affectionately called “Buddy.” After his parents passed, he was taken in by his eldest sister Maureen and her husband Ellis Kitchens who raised him as their own.
